Department : Research Unit
Reporting to : Research Manager

**Main purpose of the position**:
To coordinate implementation of the syphilis genomic research projects through direct project

support in BCMM and coordination of project partners across South Africa, and to support

implementation of STI research projects in BCMM through coordination of various project

activities under delegation of the Research Manager.

**Scope of Work**:

- Prepare and submit all project ethical documentation.***
- Development of SOPs.***
- Compiling study documents including any project training preparation.***
- Conduct project training for staff.
- Ensure Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance within all project related activities.***
- Ensure protocol compliance within all project related activities.***
- Conduct quality checks on data collected.
- Manage project staff and coordinate all study activities.***
- Prepare progress reports for both local and international collaborators.***
- Identify and manage project related challenges.***
- Liaise with facility managers for all project related events.***
- Conduct project meetings.
- Design supplier agreements.***
- Procurement of all project resources and perform regular stock taking.***
- To maintain confidentiality always.
- To perform any reasonable other study duty as requested by the Research Manager.**
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or Public Health
- Qualification in research methodology (advantageous)
- Good Clinical Practice certificate (advantageous)
- Qualification in supply chain management (advantageous)

**Working / Industry experience required**:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Project Coordination role.
- Experience in staff management.
- Stake holder engagement.
- Experience in data collection and management of project documentation.
- Experience in public health sector (advantageous).

**Additional requirements**:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing Xhosa and English.
- Proficiency in another local language (advantageous).
- Valid Code 8 driver’s license and willingness to travel.
