A position has arisen for an Equity Analyst at our client based in the Southern Suburbs.

**Primary job functions**
- To research companies listed on the JSE and African markets
- Conduct thorough and rigorous financial analysis of the relevant companies
- In depth industry analysis
- Research on selected mid to small cap companies with view to build long term positions
- Updating and effective use of software systems for the capturing and analysis of equity research and to

maintain the integrity of the relevant research data on a continuous basis
- To critically review sell side research
- Maintain company models and continuously update with new information and results
- Provide support to Portfolio Managers and assist in assimilating data and compiling reports
**Basic job requirements**
- An appropriate tertiary education with a good understanding of accounting
- Post graduate and or CA qualification will be advantageous
- 3-5 years relevant industry experience
- Enthusiasm and passion for investments
- An ability to synthesise masses of economic, industry and company information, and to effectively analyse this and formulate an investment rationale
- An ability to communicate in a lucid and concise manner with colleagues and external managements, both in oral and written form
- A team player who relates well to colleagues
- Strong ability to critically analyse data and financial statements and maintain excel spreadsheets
