Junior Swine Nutritionist

**Minimum requirements for the role**:

- Must have a BSc. Agric degree in Animal Science or related qualification
- Must be a Registered Professional Natural Scientist with SACNASP or in the process of registering
- Minimum 3 years experience in the Animal Feed industry, preferably monogastric nutrition, will be required
- A good understanding of swine nutrition and the ability to offer solutions to optimize animal performance are important
- Experience related to premix and feed additive industry would be advantageous
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) are essential
- Good communication and writing skills, specifically in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders of all levels, are important
- Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel
- Analysing and providing integrated recommendations regarding management and nutrition on farms for improved performance and efficiency.
- Calculating and assessing the relative nutritional values of various feeds and raw materials and making recommendations accordingly.
- Advising on feed formulation, premix formulation, feed additive usage for existing and new swine customers as well as internal stakeholders.
- Organising technical support and training programs (technical service, nutrition, training, seminars) for customers and internal team related to products, information, and support services.
- Coordinating know-how and expertise within Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Keeping track of new developments and innovations within the company as well as other companies.
- Understanding and translating global product position and know-how to local approach and needs.
- Translating research findings and practical experiences into the animal feed portfolio.
- Coordinating and reviewing nutritional aspects and feed manufacturing implications of new and existing products with both internal and external groups.
- Assisting in managing and developing protocols, data and reports of all post-registration studies, as well as interactions with marketing to develop and leverage resulting data into sales.
- Responsible for quality control, analysis and interpretation of trial data and preparations of final reports.
- Contributing to product development by introducing new food concepts into Africa Portfolio.

**Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
