UPS Field Services Engineer - Cape Town, Western Cape - Job ID 4022

Our client in the UPS industry is looking to employ a Field Service Technician with 5 years’ extensive experience with AC & DC on the electrical and electronic side from installations to repairs and commissioning, etc. Join this dynamic growing team with your expertise.

A fast-growing business responsible of life cycle management of all their electrical products, systems and software portfolio.

They serve customers in data centres, utilities, industries, buildings, marine, healthcare segments by providing installation, commissioning, warranty care, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting services, spare parts, equipment life extension, modernization, and end-of-life services.

The services portfolio is around power distribution and power quality projects, for major data centres, telecom, utilities & mining companies in the region.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Manager

Travel requirements: 50-75%

Job description / core competencies:
AC and DC installation.

Fault finding and repair of UPS Systems internally and in the field.

Battery replacement.

Site survey and electrical environment analysis.

Diagnostic of MCCs, VSDs, power distribution (1st level).

Compile site analysis report.

Build customer trust relationship.

Promote the electrical service offers.

Prepare monthly report related to service activity.

Participating in stand by service.

Extensive travelling national and abroad.

Use the tools, clothing and equipment’s as defined by management (environment, health, and safety).

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
N-Dip Electrical Engineering or higher

5 years of applied expertise with UPSs data centre operations
- 2+ Years’ power electronics
- 5+ Years’ field service work
- 5+ Years’ strong customer orientation AC and DC knowledge
