An Executive opportunity has arisen within a national manufacturer for a suitable individual to lead and direct the Procurement Function of the Group based at Head Office in Durban. The role reports to the Group CEO.

The Group Procurement Executive has the primary responsibility of developing the procurement strategy relevant to the diversified operations of the group. The portfolio involves

the implementation of the procurement strategy such as negotiations of cost effective and sustainable contractual arrangements, procurement of goods such as direct raw materials and packaging as well indirect good and services that are part of the day-to-day running of the operating divisions. Duties include planning, scheduling, initiating, monitoring and quality

assurance of all procurement contracts, activities, and decisions. The portfolio is the foundation of the positive profit margins in the operating entities.

Your above average ability to negotiate and gain cooperation from colleagues, staff, and stakeholders, strategic planning abilities, understanding of Supply Chain Management procedures, developing and maintaining group policies and procurement policies, solid inventory management, management of a team based nationally and the ability to execute financial analysis all form part of this challenging role in the FMCG space.

A degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or Commerce is a minimum requirement. A formal postgrad qualification eg. an MBA will be highly desirable.

At least 10 years of continuous involvement at Senior and or Executive Management in Procurement (within manufacturing) is essential.
