Professional Nurse

**Main purpose of the job**: The incumbent will support the implementation of a comprehensive HIV prevention and SRHR programme by identifying at-risk, HIV-negative adolescent girls and young women and initiating these clients onto Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). In addition, the incumbent will support case-finding activities for AGYW and initiate all newly diagnosed HIV-positive clients onto ART; and supporting the continued management thereof of both ART and PrEP clients.

**Key performance areas** Day to day service delivery at health facilities. Clinical assessments, management and monitoring of HIV negative adolescent girls and young women on PrEP. Clinical assessments, management and monitoring of HIV-positive adolescent girls and young women on ART. Conducting behavioral risk screening on HIV negative adolescent girls and young women, initiate eligible clients onto PrEP and providing risk reduction counselling where needed. Provide technical assistance and onsite mentoring to facility staff to integrate HIV prevention and SRHR services into the Care and Treatment programme. Support the integration of post-violence services into HIV prevention, SRH and AYFS model of care. Conduct needs assessments and support the development, implementation, and monitoring quality improvement plans. Completing patient records in line with guidelines. Support the CCMDD programme including identifying patients for decanting, adherence support groups and seeing follow up patients. Submit progress reports on daily and weekly basis. Manage equipment & supplies conducting assessments of requirements, managing stock & equipment and coordinating the maintenance of equipment. Support data analysis and verification processes to ensure that all reports submitted to donors are accurate and efficient. Perform other duties aligned to the role as assigned.

**Required minimum education and training** o Diploma in General Nursing with specialization o NIMART certificate of competence with a completed logbook.

**Professional Body registration** o Proof of current registration with SANC ,

**Minimum work experience **o 2 years’ relevant experience in public health setting.

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities** o Knowledge on PrEP, UTT, ART ,TB and Sexual and Reproductive Health - Completion of NDoH online PrEP course for clinicians would be advantageous. o Experience in working with adolescent and youth in a clinical environment. o Positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated approach to work. o Demonstrated resourcefulness and ability to problem solve. o Ability to work under pressure and in a diverse environment. o Ability to work independently as well as in a team. o Resilient and self-motivated with high regard for excellence, work ethic, values and integrity. o Proficiency in English and IsiZulu. o Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. o Valid Driver’s License. o Willingness and ability to travel.
