- REPORTING TO THE ESTIMATOR SUPERVISOR- JOB PURPOSE:
- Providing the costing of products for all outgoing quotes and tenders; managing the cost data of products on the ERP system- JOB FUNCTION:
- Maintain database of costs for various types of raw materials by benchmarking costs of items to industry standard and updating these costs on the database to enable estimation of costs for tender purposes to be within 5% of actual costs if order is received- Estimate manufacturing methods/times and material costs using the relevant database and send to sales personnel to be included in the tender before the tender deadline closes- Simulate and freeze costs on the ERP system after setting up a new item or when an item changes in order to maintain accurate costs on the system- Conduct time study when an item is sold to check the estimated against the actual material costs and actual labour times- Conduct variance analysis when a variance is reported by a relevant stakeholder- Calculate selling price using the agreed mark up as per the Sales Budget- Monitor contracts with regard to validity & initiating price updates if necessary- Check & update Bill of Material on JDE using the information obtained from drawings to facilitate the manufacture of an item- Set up routing after the creation of the Bill of Material- Update calculation spreadsheets when new or improved manufacturing processes are established- Run reports as per departmental procedure- Update reports when necessary- Set up costing reports and send to managers for approval as per departmental procedure- Submit accurate prices on time to Proposals department-
**Inherent Requirements**
- QUALIFICATION:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics / N3.- Relevant costing/financial qualification advantageous.- 2 years relevant estimating/costing experience in a technical environment- REQUIREMENTS:
