Video Editor

**Minimum Qualifications**
- **NQF Level 5 qualification** in **Film Production**, **Multimedia Design**, **Video Editing**, **Digital Media**, or a related field.
- Certifications in post-production, editing software, or motion graphics (advantageous).

**Experience**
- Minimum of **8 years of professional experience** in video editing or post-production.
- Proven portfolio of edited video projects across various formats (e.g., corporate videos, promotional content, social media clips, short films, or documentaries).
- Experience working with both raw footage and existing material to produce polished final outputs.

**Core Competencies**
- **Editing & Post-Production**:

- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard editing software such as **Adobe Premiere Pro**, **Final Cut Pro**, or **DaVinci Resolve**.
- Strong sense of timing, rhythm, and pacing to enhance storytelling.
- **Motion Graphics & Visual Enhancements**:

- Basic to intermediate experience with **Adobe After Effects**, **Motion**, or similar tools to add motion graphics, intros/outros, and animated text.
- Ability to enhance footage using color correction, grading, and visual effects.
- **Sound Editing**:

- Basic sound design and editing capabilities, including noise reduction, music integration, and audio syncing.
- Understanding of audio levels, mixing, and soundtrack selection.
- **Format & Output Knowledge**:

- Understanding of various video formats, resolutions, and aspect ratios for different platforms (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, websites).
- Ability to optimize content for digital distribution, streaming, and broadcast.

**Soft Skills**
- Excellent attention to detail and visual composition.
- Strong time-management and organizational abilities, especially when working under tight deadlines.
- Creative thinker with the ability to take direction and implement feedback constructively.
- Strong collaboration skills when working with producers, videographers, and content creators.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Edit and deliver engaging, high-quality video content that aligns with brand and project objectives.
- Organize and manage video assets, footage, and project files.
- Collaborate with creative, marketing, and production teams to meet deadlines and creative standards.
- Ensure videos are on-brand and consistent across formats and campaigns.
- Stay updated on the latest editing techniques, visual trends, and platform-specific best practices.
