Senior Specialist: Finance

**Role purpose**:
The Finance & Compliance systems engineer is responsible for the delivery and support of robust and scalable solutions. The Engineer's responsibilities: Design, implementation, testing, and Operate of various Finance & Compliance solution components. Collaboration with other teams (Engineering, Operations and carry out upgrades and new feature deliveries, establish monitoring and alerting practices, participate in customer service configuration and scaling, ensure continuous service uptime and availability, and participate in addressing customer issue resolution. Design, implementation, and testing of automated solution deployment. Development of automated tests and Health Checks. Development of availability dashboards and reports for Operations. Analyze customer issues and requests and improve processes by defining product enhancements for better self-service.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
Provide supervisory technology security assurance and guidance with supported technologies.
Assure that technology security is embedded in supported IT systems.
Defining, implementing, and efficiently maintaining technology security controls and requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of technical support for projects.
Ensure compliance with Legal and Regulatory requirements and SCM requirements.
Support Technology Security awareness programs and educational efforts.
Provide accurate and timely reporting of technology security risks identified during the projects.
Provide remediation plans and mitigation vulnerabilities within the operating environment.
Estimate user and technical stories to help inform and prioritize the backlog.
Design modules according to user stories, designs, and technical stories.
Develop solutions according to module designs and deploy them using the delivery pipeline.
Develop and execute unit and integration tests; support testing against the user and technical story acceptance tests.
To act as a technical liaison between development and the Operational teams and to ensure the required support from all areas to ensure delivery of quality solutions.
Manage incidents and problems as level two and level three support.
To maintain, re-evaluate, optimize or automate existing business processes.
To create reports and feedback for executive and line management.
Responsible for supporting service teams operating in a microservices architecture.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage production, testing, and development environments. Build and maintain highly scalable, large-scale deployments in AWS, globally.
Recommend new technologies as components of a solution when appropriate.
Take ownership of features from beginning to end: from design documents and reviews to acceptance testing and deployment.
24/7 on-call support - along with the service owners.
A pro-active problem solver, and 100% self-motivated.
You can context-switch between multiple projects/codebases/concepts with ease.
Understand software development at a fundamental level, use the best tools for the job, and always think about the future (at scale) when architecting solutions.
Experience working with open source projects, ideally with a history of contributions.
Understanding the fundamentals and importance of code, quality, and performance metrics.
Ability to rapidly learn new software, frameworks, open-source tools, and development languages.
Detail oriented and systematic.
Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and fault resolution skills.
Excellent communication skills
Object-oriented programming experience, for example in Python or Java.
**Ideally you should possess the following**:
Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
5 - 8 years relevant experience of which a minimum of three years of Infrastructure/Automation/DevOps experience.
Diploma or Degree in Technical/Computer Science or Engineering.
Familiarity with development and troubleshooting software on Linux and Windows Server.
Professional experience and knowledge of the Telecommunications industry are preferred.
Monitor information security governance, risk, and compliance by Vodacom Corporate IT.
Engage with the stakeholders on control effectiveness and deficiencies in the design and operating effectiveness of information security controls.
Interpret and manage the controls and capabilities required for Vodacom to establish and comply with an information security management system in alignment with information security international best practices and/or industry standard(s).
Manage and implement the Vodacom information security audit and assurance plans and schedules, including any specific business needs and requirements (ISO27001, GDPR, POPIA, Cyber Crime Bill, SOX compliance, SPDA).
Unit, integration, smoke, and static code analysis testing.
Architectural element testing e.g. APIs.
System incident and problem management.
Extensive knowledge of Finance & Compliance solutions and products.
Extensive experience with troubleshooting Finance & Compliance product issues
