Assistant Technician

We are a fast growing transport and logistics company, looking for an individual who has experience working in logistics, to join our team.

The duties for this position will include, but is not limited to:
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Must have the ability to do maintenance and repairs to side tippers, Interlink tautliners. (As per manufacture service and maintenance recommendation and torque settings)
- Use own toolbox with relevant tools to perform respective duties.
- Be able to work on Henred and BPW systems.
- Ensure trailers are always roadworthy and in a good working condition.
- Conduct brake test after all brake overhauls.
- Knowledge of mechanical and air suspension.
- Repair and rewiring of ABS wiring. Lock rings and sensors.
- Check and report on wheel bearings.
- Check and report on brake lining wear and springs.
- Check and report on chassis cracks.
- Check and report on suspension and rocker arms and bushes.
- Check and report on all lights, interior, and marker lights.
- Condition report on side protection bars and replace when necessary.
- Repairs and replacement of ABS wiring and sensors.
- Check and report on all air pipes and couplings.
- Condition report on load boxes and floors.
- Condition report on the overhaul on the trailer and company branding.
- Check and report on apron plate and kingpins using the measuring tools provided.
- Check and report on landing leg support and landing legs.
- Computer literate to reprogram and do adjustments on trailer modulators and ABS repairs.
- Adhere to breakdown safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area at all times.
- Housekeeping and health and safety adherence.
- Ensure job cards are completed as per company policy and procedures with all supporting documentation.
- Perform ancillary duties to the above and determined by Management on an ongoing basis.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- WABCO Certification.
- Experience hydraulics
- Minimum 3 - 5 Years experience.
- Valid drivers licence.

**Salary**: R10,500.00 - R12,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Delmas, Mpumalanga: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
