Business Need/Purpose of Role:
The CNC Programmer will ensure the day-to-day programming of machines, including new parts and projected related to machine shop. Assist machine shop suppliers on complex programmes to meet our internal quality standards. This position ensures that end users are provided with value added solutions to reduce delay on machines to deliver parts to the customer and improve machine shop quality and OTD (On time delivery). Investigate quality issues and make improvements. This role is also responsible to improve innovation and cost reduction within the plan. Identify and improve none safety areas to ensuring safety compliance.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:

- Qualified Fitter and Turner / Tool and Die maker
- Advanced CNC Programming course
- Knowledge on Edge CAM and Mazak CAM
- Computer Literate - MS Office Suite

Minimum Experience:

- 3-5 years post trade test experience
- 3 years CNC programming experience on Fanuc and Mazatrol
- Up to 5 axis CNC programming experience
- Horizontal and vertical CNC boring mill machines experience
- CNC lathe experience
- CAD / CAM experience
- Exposure to and implementation of lean manufacturing
- Implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 and ISO (International Standards Organization) 14001 standards

Key Tasks:

- Industrialization of new parts (New programs, set up sheets, routing)
- Involvement in machine shop smart manufacturing
- Improving existing programs
- Develop new set up sheets for existing parts
- Improve machining methods
- Assist machinists with program troubleshooting on the shop floor
- Assist with the review of current time studies, in consultation with CIP (Continuous Improvement Projects) Department
- Liaise with tooling suppliers regarding new tooling, inserts and methods
- Maintain quality and standards within the Machine shop
- Ensure all work is of a high quality and standard
- Assist in sustaining lean management in Machine shop
- Develop, maintain and improve processes
- Optimize and set up programmes to improve equipment effectiveness
- Continuous improvements in Lean and Kaizen
- Ensure adherence to all SHE (Safety Health Environment) and housekeeping requirements in Machine shop
- Ensure adherence to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Minimum Skills/Abilities:

- Computer literate - Advanced MS Office Suite and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software / Excellent communication on all levels / Ability to analyses and interpret drawings, include/ Ability to define and solve problems in a timely manner/ / Ability to work under pressure and according to tight deadlines within a very complex organizational structure/ Meets productivity standards/ Safety conscious
