- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in compliance with OHS regulations and industry standards.
- Oversee safety management on-site for road maintenance projects, including road pavement repairs, pothole filling, grass cutting, and drainage system maintenance.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and local legislation.
- Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to staff, emphasising best practices in road maintenance, grass cutting, and construction operations.
- Ensure all workers are equipped with and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate any incidents or near-misses, and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risks.
- Maintain safety records and reports for management and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure the seamless implementation of safety measures.

**Requirements**:

- National Diploma or relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- **SACPCMP accreditation** as a registered Safety Officer (required).
- Minimum of **3 years' experience** in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of **OHS regulations** and safety best practices in construction and civil engineering projects.
- Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train and guide on-site teams in safety compliance.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.
