**Unlock Your Potential** We’re looking for a passionate **ARTISAN FITTER** to join **I&J**in** Paarden Eiland, Cape Town**. In this role, you will be required to work under pressure, unsupervised and be willing to work on standby and occasionally overtime as and when required. This role will be required to work on a rotational shift system which may include night shift from time to time and some weekends.

**Reporting Structure**:

- **Reports to**: Engineering Manager

**Key Areas of Impact**:
**Maintenance**:

- Monitor machine performance on a daily basis
- Performing daily checks and routine inspections on equipment and report and repair faults
- Coordinate preventative maintenance activities
- Attending to equipment breakdowns and identifying mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults on equipment
- Minimise and reduce the need for outsourced engineering maintenance

**Planning**:

- Execute maintenance strategies for different divisions in the factory
- Schedule compliance with job cards and ensure they are manually completed
- Execute jobs allocated via job cards during shutdown

**Cost Control**:

- Immediately report on defective or machinery that requires attention
- Manage the cost of materials, time and labour effectively

**Safety**:

- Perform risk assessments and critical equipment for every job
- Ensure loss of work is kept to a bare minimum and assist with shutdown planning and execution
- Ensure the Lock out procedure is complied with

**What It Takes to Succeed**:
**Experience that set you up for success**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Fitter in a food processing environment
- Understanding of the operation and maintenance of the following:

- Food Processing equipment for example, coating lines and conveyers
- Knowledge of working on packaging machines in a factory environment
- Pneumatics and Hydraulics experience
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits
- Root Cause Analysis understanding and exposure

**Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success**:

- NQF 4 Fitter qualification or equivalent is required
- Completed Red Seal certification is required

**Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success**:

- Bagging and sealing machine experience and knowledge would be advantageous
- Sealing and Multi Head exposure would be advantageous
- Own reliable transport
