**ABOUT THE ROLE**:
As the Coding Mentor at HyperionDev, you will fall under the Quality and Support function within the Education Operations Department.

To excel in this role, you should have good attention to detail as reviewing the reviewers will be a big part of the role. Good relationship and communication skills will allow one to support our students via a forum (Discord and Discourse) and deal with support tickets within the given turnaround time.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Quality Assurance
- Onboarding and training of Marketplace Code Reviewers.
- Meta-reviewing of all synchronous and asynchronous reviews allocated.
- Dealing with day-to-day support of the Marketplace Code Reviewers to ensure that turnaround times are met - Marketplace Code Reviewers will be allocated to each mentor who will be responsible for ensuring their review loads are met within SLA and that their quality is up to standard.
- As SMEs, support Learning Design with content development, fixes, and amendments where required. This should not clash with Education Operation duties and will be managed by the respective Leads.
- Support
- Supporting Student Success with student queries and responding to these.
- For more complex student queries and interventions, mentors to assist the SPA in resolving these as per our policy for academic integrity, scalability, and consistency; where required, mentors to escalate to Sobane for him to weigh in
- Mentors will assist in the identification and utilisation of Student Champions or Assisting Mentors who will be top students that will assist on Discord.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**_Minimum_**:

- Degree/Diploma/Bootcamp, or relevant experience, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (informally acquired skills welcome too)
- 6 months to 1+ years of programming experience or teaching experience in a core programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or C++
- Teaching or tutoring experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Fast learner with a willingness to learn new stacks and technologies
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Patience and empathy for learners
- A problem-solving and positive attitude
- Ability to craft and maintain student spreadsheets and collate student data
- Start-up mentality and the desire to see your students succeed
- An interest in the future of education and online learning
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills

**_ Preferred_**:

- 2+ years of programming experience or teaching experience in a core programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or C++
- Experience designing and developing interactive learning experiences
- Experience working with online students or delivering remote support
- Active involvement in local and international tech communities
- Mastery in one or more of Python, Java, JavaScript (MERN stack), Data Science, Machine Learning, iOS/Android development
