Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant
**Requirements**:

- A qualification as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant with the SAPC
- Institutional Sector modules completion preferred
- Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a

Pharmacist Assistant (post-basic)
- At least three (3) years’ experience as a PBPA with Primary

Healthcare (ART; TB; EPI) - experience of 1 year in the PHC sector
will be advantageous
- Competent in MS word; MS PowerPoint and MS Excel, while

administrative experience in a clinic setting will be an advantage
- A valid driver’s licence is essential.

Key Performance Areas
- Work under the indirect supervision of a pharmacist at one or more

Pharmacies and Dispensaries on a rotational basis
- Assist in managing and controlling pharmaceutical and Non

Pharmaceutical stock by ordering, receiving, and checking
requisitions to ensure adequate supply and compliance with
regulations.
- Dispense and check pharmaceutical products while providing

patients with instructions regarding the correct use of medications,
ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Provide information to patients about their medications, including

potential side effects and proper usage, which is essential for
promoting health and ensuring patient safety.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control processes within

the pharmacy and dispensary to maintain high standards of service
delivery and compliance with health regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical transactions, stock

levels, patient interactions, regulatory compliance.
- Support the compounding of medications as needed under the

supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring adherence to established
protocols and standards.
- Perform various administrative tasks related to pharmacy

operations, such as managing schedules, processing invoices, and
maintaining inventory records.
- Engage in health promotion initiatives by providing education on

medication management and general health topics to patients
