Medical Aid rate based on principal member only)- To be confirmed- Advert Closing Date- 20/10/2024- Job PurposeThe objective is to fill the position of Technology lecturer in the SP&FET Department with a staff member with expertise in this area. - Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- A relevant Master’s degree in Technology Education (excluding ICT/IT) or Engineering Education or Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering - A relevant teaching qualification (preferably at secondary school level) - At least two (2) years’ relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level or five (5) years’ relevant experience in SP & FETphase at school level. - Specialized knowledge of Methodologies of teaching Technology **RECOMMENDATIONS** - A relevant doctoral degree - Relevant research output - Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Teaching Technology in the SP & FET, and Intermediate Phase departments - Curriculum development and other learning materials - Supervising students on teaching practice - Research and involvement in research activities (publications and supervision) - Academic administration, development, and administration - Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge - Learner support - Assessment and quality assurance - Networking with schools and other networks - Community engagement - Coaching and mentoring of students and staff - Strong learner focus - Teamwork and collaboration - Meticulous planning and organizing skills - Ability to align yourself to hybrid teaching and learning models (face-to-face and on-line learning) - Perform other functions as may be assigned by the head of department - Competencies- Expert knowledge in Technology - Adequate content and pedagogical content knowledge - Excellent teaching skills - Excellent organizational and planning skills - Good presentation skills using different technologies and software for teaching Technology - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Excellent interpersonal skills) - Research skills - Coaching and mentoring skills - Adaptability - Teamwork and collaboration - Ability to work independently - Networking with schools/building partnerships - Strong learner focus - Knowledge of education policies nationally (including CAPS) - Computer literacy - General Information**Closing Date**: 20 October 2024 **Please ensure that your on-line CV highlights and includes the following information**: 1.
