**Overall Purpose of the job**:
The Junior Electronics Technician is responsible for the testing and troubleshooting of electronic equipment, parts, and systems according to engineering instructions and customer specifications

**Minimum qualifications and experience**:

- Matric qualification with 2+ years of demonstrated relevant experience
- Computer literate with basic knowledge of IT networks and terminology
- Successful completion of the FADT NRC Basic Electronics skills test.

**Job Requirements & Other Attributes**:

- The ability/skill to troubleshoot Electronic systems to PCB module level using various test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams
- Use of Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Signal generators, Digital MultiMeters and Frequency Counters
- Knowledge of proper PCB board handling and ESD prevention practices
- Hands-on problem-solving style
- Self-motivated and self-directed, requiring mínimal oversight to meet objectives and timelines
- Keeping current with applicable technology
- Valid code 08 driver’s licence
- Must be PSIRA registered (minimum - Grade C)
- Attendance of specified training for further certification
- Understanding and Daily Adherence to contractual earnestness clauses
- Acceptance of and agreement to regular Clearance checks including polygraphs
- Excellent verbal communication skills and be able to do report writing
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Build and maintain good relationships with Internal and External Customers
- Serious regard for chain of command reporting for example the understanding that altering or adjusting equipment, altering testing procedures or processes may not be done without Managerial approval

**Main duties & Responsibilities**:

- Perform incoming inspection, testing and repair of faulty systems and equipment received from Customers or Service Technicians, using approved testing procedures and schematics
- Repair or replace defective or improperly functioning equipment that failed inspection, as per Supplier Technical specification
- Setting up of specific test apparatus or test equipment to conduct functional, operational and soak tests to evaluate performance and reliability of complete systems and individual components
- Fabricate the necessary cables and jigs for use with test equipment and assemblies as needed
- Complete the required paperwork and test records for all tested equipment
- Maintain warranty, service and repair records
- Perform quality checks on repaired equipment to ensure proper operation
- To assist with product and related training activities and technical support
- To identify and suggest improvements on training practices and documentation
- Test documentation and procedures may NOT be altered without your Line Manager’s approval.
- Maintain a high standard and neat workshop environment
- Abide by company’s Health and Safety policy and procedures
- Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as appropriate and/or required
- Assist with weekly stock take to ensure stock levels do not pass approved minimum stock levels
- Ensure all completed jobs are updated on the incident management system before being dispatched or collected
- Excellent care of company property entrusted to you
- Always dress as per company expectation and policy when on duty
- Timekeeping and ensure effective amount of work completed daily
- Plan to Succeed and Right first time
- Ensure all work is done to a high-quality standard
- Ensure relevant job cards, status reports and all other documents are always completed
- Generate accurate records of tests and acceptance test procedures
- Live reporting on work in progress, activities and results to all relevant parties
- Ensure deviations are escalated and approved
- Escalate issues fast and efficiently to ensure great service delivery and excellent communication
- Always ensure work performed meets customer & company policy expectations
