Purpose

As a Data Modeler, you will be joining a cross-functional, scrum-based data team, that’s transforming the way we do data for the organization. We are looking at you data modelling competencies to translate value stream mappings into data points and their relationships. We are focused on value and insight generation and you will play a critical role on the strengthen of our analytical presence in the Chat Commerce market.

We Do The Right Things

Responsibilities of the Role
- Work closely with Data and Solution Architects and Data Analyst in the implementation of data modelling solutions, support the reduction of data redundancy and streamline data movements
- Facilitate data discovery sessions involving business Subject Matter experts, and translating business concepts into data definition and dependencies
- Design and maintain conceptual/ business and logical data models, and the subsequent translation into physical design e.g. reference objects - indexes, etc.
- Synchronize models to ensure database structures match models
- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from Databases and SQL scripts to drive insights into the current data structure logical and physical
- Develop best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.
- Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility

Requirements of the Role
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field
- Work Experience
- 3 years of hands-on experience with physical and relational data modelling
- Knowledge and Abilities
- Experience with modeling tools (such as ERWin and ER/Studio)
- Expertise and knowledge in metadata management, business intelligence, and data services architectural frameworks
- Expertise in SQL, and you are familiar with Python (Spark is a bonus)
- Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis
- A passion for technologies and data architecture and the ability to effect change
- Presentation and Project Management skills
