General Worker

This position exists to assist in the general activities on site

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Collaborate with immediate Supervisor to achieve operational targets.

- Conduct daily inspections within designated area of responsibility.

- Plan and manage tailings material on site and at depositing areas.

- Extend and connect pipelines as required.

- Operate valves in line with operational requirements.

- Follow instructions provided by immediate Supervisor to carry out specific tasks.

- Assist in resolving operational challenges and promptly report deviations to the immediate Supervisor.

- Perform Mud Guard duties, including monitoring and controlling tailings dam levels and maintaining dam integrity.

- Maintain good housekeeping at all times.

- Comply with all safety rules, regulations and procedures in line with applicable legislation and company policies.

- Attend and participate in toolbox talks/meetings.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

- Grade 12 Certificate.

**EXPERIENCE**

- A minimum of one years’ experience preferably having worked in a mining/construction environment.

**SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED**

- Good communication skills (verbal and written).

- Good planning and organising.

- Teamwork and observant.

- Good listening skills.

**GENERAL REQUIREMENTS**

- A minimum of one years’ experience preferably having worked in a mining/construction environment.

- Must pass company and/or client criminal screening processes.

- Must be physically, mentally and medically fit as per company and/or client standards.

- Willingness to work rotating shifts as required.

- Availability to work overtime when necessary.
