Howden MEA Projects is looking for an experienced **Technical Buyer**. The position will be responsible for the sourcing, negotiation and purchasing of raw materials, finished products, and services required by the various Newbuild turnkey projects and ensuring that the delivery, quality, and specifications requirements are met.

**_ What Will You Do?_**
- Source and negotiate prices and purchase materials listed on BOM or drawings, from suppliers to ensure that the company gets the best price without compromising quality, on time, and according to prescribed standards.- Process AX orders with suppliers who meet the set criteria to ensure that orders are delivered on time and according to set standards. Engage suppliers to expedite deliveries to ensure that the suppliers meet the agreed delivery dates.- Provide feedback to the project manager/engineer on the status of orders to ensure that they are advised beforehand when orders are not going to be delivered as expected, on time, according to set standards- Meet with representatives from Supplier companies to issue drawings and Work Data Packages for quotation purposes and to discuss new products on the market, as well as price trends. Monitor supplier performance and provide feedback to suppliers- Expediting- Identify new suppliers for products and services by conducting market research.- Evaluate the spend per commodity spend and consider long-term agreements. Promote cost-saving opportunities with suppliers. Review and analyse price increases.- Issue tenders, compile adjudications, conduct clarifications meetings, and respond to suppliers.- Understanding of Forex requirements.- Ensure the Suppliers' BBBEE certificates are validated to ensure compliance with BBBEE requirements.- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards in compliance with company policy to ensure a safe working environment.- Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls**_Your Experience Should Be _**
- Supply Chain Management/ Purchasing Diploma or equivalent.- Qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering.- 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering/project environment- Must be able to read and understand drawings C/W LOPs / Material list- Computer literate and proficient in ERP Systems. Knowledge of AX system (Buyer role).- Good communication and interpersonal skills- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.- Good negotiation skills.**_Our Benefits Package _**
