Operations and Banqueting Supervisor

Supervises and controls the event logistics, set up and running of functions to the required 5 star standards.
Main duties:
- Ensures that logistics for functions are correctly handled in keeping with the five star standard of the forum.
- Takes overall responsibility for safe packing standards, policies and procedures when moving stock between venues and properties.
- Ensures that all functions and duties are carried out to five star service levels.
- Ensures a prompt and courteous response to all enquiries and internal enquires from colleagues.
- Ensures that once a booking is confirmed, all details and requirements are noted on a checklist.
- Prints function sheets daily so as to be prepared for functions with the most updated information.
- Ensures that staffing rosters are drawn up weekly and checked and updated daily as per the requirements of the function and within staff best practice guidelines.
- Checks that the relevant setups have been done for the function Checks that the function rooms,/ tents and cloakrooms and are clean, that the area layouts are correct and that any specific requirements are seen before guests arrive.
- Ensures staff maintains the highest possible standards of personal hygiene and dress at all times.
- Ensures effective briefing of staff before the beginning of every function.
- Ensures the service to customers is courteous and professional.
- Ensures all items used for functions are checked and returned to the correct storage place according to policies and procedures.
- Explains variances on any loses or damages related to events
- Ensures that items broken by clients are charged to clients
- Ensures that all items and equipment are used for correct purpose and not abused (e.g.: using table cloths or napkins for cleaning, using knifes as screwdrivers, etc.).
- Gives feedback on guest letters and comments.
- Coaches staff on a daily basis (training, disciplining, etc.).
- Is familiar with the staff handbook and company house rules.
- Is familiar with fire and safety procedures and maintains the highest standards of occupational safety. Ensures maximum security of all areas under his/her control.
- Carries out any other job-related duties that may be requested by management, which may involve working in other areas, as demanded by business needs.
Operations area:
- Ensures that all assigned store areas are always clean and maintained to 5 star grading requirements.
- Is familiar with the fire and safety procedures.
- Maintains the highest standards of occupational safety.

- Relationship with colleagues : builds and maintains good relationship with working colleagues.

**Salary**: R12,000.00 - R18,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
