Requirements
- A degree (NQF 7) in Architecture, Archaeology, Planning, Urban

Design or a related qualification
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ relevant experience in heritage

management in the built environment
- Sound knowledge and understanding of heritage legislation and

practice
- Computer proficiency in MS Office
- A valid Code B driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas
- Provide a heritage impact assessment service in the district office
- Provide a professional heritage management input to

multidisciplinary teams, projects and plans
- Provide input to the City’s strategic forward planning and policy
- Initiate and manage heritage improvement projects
- Monitor compliance with development control conditions
- Enforcement and remedial action for illegal or detrimental activities
- Facilitate knowledge/skills transfer
- Engage with stakeholders (developers/consultants, community

bodies, etc.) and other City Departments.
