Workout and Debt Restructuring Specialist Lead

Job Description

To minimise and prevent financial loss for the bank by identifying clients with potential problems, managing companies in distress and recovering the banks exposure in failed companies
- Prepare packs for 4 different ORM meetings on a monthly basis
- Chair monthly ORM meetings
- Monitor compliance of covenants and take action if need be
- Monitor outstanding collateral
- Manage excesses and escalate when required
- Decide on legal action to recover exposures
- Identify early warning signals of companies in distress
- Manage the watch list and non performing list
- Manage the liquidation process in conjunction with the liquidator and the sale of assets that were taken as collateral outside of liquidation
- Manage the business rescue process with the practitioner
- Institute legal action and submit affidavits
- Attend Section 417 enquiries and collect proceeds
- Assess the viability of the client by looking at their financial statements
- Consider various restructuring options
- Submit and present to debt restructuring committee for approval
- Implement the transaction with internal or external legal advisors
- Monitor company once transaction is implemented
- Attend internal RMB as well as Credit Committee meetings and advise on corrective action
- Attend client meetings to address issues raised
- Get involved in rating and LGD discussions when the need arises
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue listen advise influence and negotiate to achieve win win outcomes
- Initiate meetings with key stakeholders to track progress manage expectations and ensure stakeholders requirements are delivered
- Preserve relationships despite airing conflicting views and seeks mutual gains when addressing conflicts
- Anticipate consequences and adapts problem solving based on continual feedback
- Act speedily to resolve problems queries and complaints
- Adapt communication styles to meet the needs of different audiences
- Demonstrate pride in the organisations brand services and products by consistently delivering on the brands promise
- Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained
- Stay relevant and up to date with legislations and new developments
- Maintain a positive attitude and respond openly to feedback
