**Role overview**

The role will drive the delivery of the team’s data products, with a focus on Vivo Energy's retail and commercial businesses

The role functions as the key interface between
- executives and department heads in the retail and commercial businesses,
- the data engineering and visualisation team and
- owners of data and underlying systems including Finance and IT

Reports to: Head of Analytics

**The team**

The analytics function is using technology to deliver data-driven improvements in Vivo Energy’s ways of working, including by
- Creating bespoke analysis to enhance strategic decision-making
- Providing instant insights and prioritisation support for senior managers through interactive dashboards
- Bringing data & analytics into everyday business operations and decision-making
- Driving cost savings through automation of standard reporting

**Responsibilities**
- Designing bespoke analyses to answer key strategic questions and insightful dashboards & reports to deliver regular and timely insight, in conjunction with senior management end users
- Building prototypes in Excel and other tools to demonstrate viability, test calculations and guide the engineering and visualisation teams
- Managing data product creation projects independently from concept to delivery, working with contributors from across the business
- Working with end users to ensure successful adoption of data & analytics products
- Supporting efforts to build a data culture within Vivo Energy
- Engaging finance teams and data owners to ensure definitions and calculations are valid and initiate data quality improvements where required
- Taking an analytical, results-driven approach to problem solving
- Communicating confidently with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Breaking down complex concepts and explaining them in a simple way
- Leading and working effectively with colleagues with different backgrounds and levels of knowledge and experience of business and data
- Self-motivating and driven to meet tight deadlines
- 5-10 years of delivering analytics in a consulting, financial services, data science or corporate strategy role
- Management of small multi-disciplinary project teams
- Energy industry experience preferred but not required
