PRIMARY PURPOSE

The overall assistance of all Sports at CCJ excluding Golf at both Auckland Park and Woodmead. To assist in the facilitation of the requirements in the multiple sports on offer at Woodmead and Auckland Par. Encourage participation from Members through facilitating communication of sporting events with members, and also between various sporting bodies for the various sports leagues and teams on offer. To increase sports awareness at Country Club by designing junior sports programs to best suit the Members interests and needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General assistance in all the divisions of the Sports Department:

- Ensuring that all sports storerooms are kept neat
- Poster boards are kept updated
- Ensure all sports equipment is in working and safe conditions
- Ensure communication is sent to the various channels for junior sessions at AP and WM
- Present and be part of selected sporting subcommittees / forum discussions.
- Various monthly analysis and reports on junior sub club activities.
- Assistance with communication with various sporting bodies/organizations (ASA, CGA).
- Assist with the monthly stock count and stock control of sporting merchandise.
- Junior sports zones Fridays, weekends and other days identified by self or management.
- Participate in sporting events for members when appropriate to do so
- Participate in Club rides, runs to ensure the correct routes followed and that Members are safe.
- Ensure members sign off indemnity forms when necessary
- Engage with members and obtain feedback to assess improvement and grow participation.
- Keep participants motivated
- Facilitate junior sports classes and assist where possible in other classes if a trainer is unable to make it.
- Provide content from event for newsletter and social media to be send to the sports manager.
- Explore/ expand into new sporting disciplines not offered at the club

- Enthusiastic with a passion for sports.
- Excellent Management skills.
- Well organized with strong administrative skills.
- Strong Communication skills (Written and Verbal).
- Personable with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable speaking one on one and in large group settings.
- Computer Skills (MS Office - Intermediate user).
- Fluent in social media platforms WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, Twitter, Instagram.
- Valid SA driver’s license and own transport.
- Physically able to assemble equipment.
- Participation and presence in a variety of sporting codes is key.
- Creative and forward-thinking.
- Keeps up to date with latest sporting trends.

**_MINIMUM / PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE_**
- Physically fit and active individual.
- Active knowledge in the field of sports.

**_QUALIFICATION_**
- Tertiary qualification in Sports Marketing or Sports Management (preferred)
