Product Manager: Milling and Feed Safety

Overview:
The senior product manager must have multiple years of experience in the feed milling industry and well versed in all elements of raw materials to finished products, to make a significant contribution in the animal feeds manufacturing value chain.

**Responsibilities**:

- Use extensive industry knowledge and ability to participate in industry events, congresses, seminars, symposia, and others.
- Actively engage with customers through customer visits in support of account managers.
- Provide tactical direction and insights, own and develop “Go to Market” plans to support our business development and retention across the 3 regions we operate in.
- Understand the market dynamics, customers and competitor activities throughout the region.
- Gather market intelligence to guide the business strategies and future growth opportunities.
- Manage projects from idea to launch, by proactively and decisively taking measures to limit delays of projects in the Product Innovation Process funnel.
- Manage the product lifecycles to ensure continuous product advancements.
- Manage product related customer complaints to ensure successful and timeous resolution.
- Manage product costing and keep on top of COGS to ensure protection of the products Gross Margin through Quarterly Cost Rolls review process.
- Review the monthly stock obsolescence report and develop actions to manage at risk products.
- Manage the statutory documentation and ensure that all the documents are compliant with the statutory requirements.
- Manage product inventory, keeping stock within agreed levels.

**Key Priorities**:

- Position and grow the Platform to achieve agreed business targets.
- Execute agreed product launches and achieve set post launch sales revenues.
- Execute all price increases while maintaining customer retention.
- Protect and maintain agreed Gross Margin of products in the platform.
- Formulate and deliver products and services.
- Progress all Product Innovation Process project within the agreed timelines.

Qualifications:
**Requirements**:

- Project management skills.
- A curious and inquisitive mind.
- Extensive experience in the animal feeds manufacturing environment, i.e, all elements of the feed manufacturing process.
- Be well organized and have a systematic thinking ability.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

**Education/Experience**:

- BSc in Animal Science or related fields.
- Minimum five-year experience in a Feed Mill Manufacturing Facility.

**Language Skills**:

- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.

**Physical Demands**:

- Sitting, concentration, and utilizing computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Driving/Flying to locations for sales/customer meetings.
- Some light lifting (5kg) periodically is possible, as well as bending, pushing, climbing stairs, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods are possible.

**Work Environment**:

- Typical office and manufacturing floor environment.
- 50% Travel may be required.
