**The primary purpose of the position is**:
Provide field technician services, primarily in the mining, metals, and heavy industries, at customer sites and at the clients locations for routine and moderately complex issues.

Essential Functions:
**Technician**
- Provide technical support on the automated drill controllers on client sites.
- Liaise with site operational key stakeholders to ensure a safe and efficient operation of the client's Autonomous Drill System (ADS).
- Drive performance of the clients ADS.
- Participate in delivering After-Hours Breakdown Support for 24 / 7 coverage, as directed also ensure co-operation with Mine technicians on shift and adhere to legal instructions from them.
- Align ADS standards and best practices across numerous operational sites.
- Liaise closely with the Autonomous Drill System Engineers and Product specialists for improvements and assist to implement them in a timely manner.
- Coach and develop employees (Mine Technicians) in the operation of the client System.
- Maintain registers for software changes and overrides.
- Maintain the software backups and manage all changes.
- Ensure the obsolescence schedule is adhered to and updated as required.
- Review and update maintenance tasks, system checks, and statutory tests as required (weekly inspections and 6 weekly services on drills).
- Always maintain strong company image and positive working relationships including professional behavior with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Do complex faultfinding and report findings and deviations.
- Repair deviations according to OEM.

Requirements:

- Engineering Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.
- Qualified Instrumentation Trade.
- Experience:

- Experience involving AC or DC drives, PLCs, and / or HMI platforms.
- Knowledge of Allan Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLC) and fault finding.
- Experience in SQL systems and reporting fault finding.
- Experience in HMI systems and relevant fault finding.
- Knowledge of similar programable devices from ABB and Siemens.
- Ability to read understand technical and design drawings.
- Strong technical ability in installing, fault finding and calibrating field instrumentation devices.
- Mining, mobile, or automation equipment experience a plus.
- Other:

- Shift work and overtime may be required.

**Salary**: R18,483.09 - R39,249.52 per month
