Crane Driver

A position has become available at our client branch, in Cape Town, for a Code 10 Driver’s position to conduct local deliveries.

*Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged persons.

**Position requirements**
- Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
- Code 10 driver’s license
- Valid PDP License to and experience in operating a truck mounted crane.

**Main duties and responsibilities**
- Delivering slabs and marketing material to clients
- Assisting with the loading and off-loading of the branch truck and other trucks at the warehouse
- Ensuring the safety for operating the crane of the truck
- Daily maintenance and cleaning of the crane and truck
- Client liaison when delivering stock.
- Stock control with invoices and delivery notes
- Ensuring the vehicle is always kept in a roadworthy and legal condition.
- Responsible for filling in a time sheet and keeping a record of trips and times.
- Assisting with the general cleaning of the warehouse and premises in conjunction with other co-workers.

The vehicle must be checked daily for things like (this list is not exhaustive):

- Oil levels (including crane)
- Tyre condition and pressure
- Check and report if lights are faulty.
- Windscreen wiper condition, as well as chips or cracks
- Inspection of A frames

The applicant must reside in Cape Town, preferably in the following areas: Du Noon, Joe Slovo, Guguletu, Khayelitsha, Mitchells Plain, Athlone, Kensington, Bonteheuwel, Parow or Kuilsrivier.

**Salary**: R8,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brooklyn, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
