**Job description**

Qualification Requirements:

- National Diploma/BTech in Safety Management or higher
- SAMTRAC
- Driver’s License (advantageous)

Work Experience:

- A minimum of 3 to 5 years Health and Safety working experience essential
- Working experience within an engineering environment would be advantageous

Skills Requirements:

- Thorough knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standard requirements
- Good communication skills
- Thorough knowledge on different ISO/ IEC 170xx accreditation requirements
- Good knowledge and experience of statutory legislation and regulations
- Experience in internal audit process
- Good documentation skills
- Problem solver attitude
- Computer literacy - on all MS Office Packages
- Knowledge and understanding of the OHSA & Regulations.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work towards and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity
- Integrity: Honesty, sincerity and adherence to high standards.
- Ability to work independently
- Strong administration, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of safety culture
- Ability to manage health & safety, medical and security requirements.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:
Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.

Identifying OHS-related training needs in the workplace including toolbox talks.

Conducting safety inspections and risk assessments.

Manage and oversee safety program for all staff

Develop and implement safety solutions for employees

Ensure that safety systems, policies, and procedures are in compliance with all applicable regulations

Encourage staff to follow safety procedures

Ensure that safety training programs are up to date

Guarantee that all employees follow the safety policies

Oversee and coordinate with insurance/risk management companies

Determine and implement corrective actions when safety violations occur

Maintain safety records

Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

**Experience**:

- Safety: 2 years (required)
- Nosa & Samtrack: 2 years (required)

**Language**:

- English (required)
