Squad Lead: Healthcare Data Ecosystems

**Role Purpose**

The Squad Lead: Healthcare Data Ecosystems for ShopriteX is responsible for driving data ecosystem strategy and designing experiments to find health trends, contributing to the overall data ecosystem strategy, managing expectations at a senior level, and leading, coordinating and training team members. The Squad Lead: Healthcare Data Ecosystems will be expected to leverage customer data to deliver insights and shape business strategies to improve outcomes and deliver business growth, as well as collaborating with teams to identify, develop and measure health data ecosystem strategies.

Role Description

Data Ecosystem Strategy Development and Execution
- Lead the value creation process for a diverse and unique health focused data set and Data Ecosystem partner base.
- Leverage AI and robust science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios, prescribe actions, and deliver deep insights.
- Identify data ecosystem partners to work with
- Ideate and develop healthcare focused data products
- Work with business stakeholders to identify business requirements and model and frame business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions.
- Lead teams to develop algorithms and designing experiments to merge, manage, interrogate, and extract data to find health related trends.
- Work closely with product, design, and data science teams to develop analytics-focused products to deliver business value and impact (spec products to them and guide their work). This may involve working with data and software teams to shape and enable deployment of fit-for-purpose, robust solutions that will scale across the company's ecosystem.
- Work with businesses across Shoprite to align healthcare strategy.
- Contribute to the overall data ecosystem strategy, which will include identifying partners, understanding what data will be valuable and proposing solutions using these alternative datasets.
- Leveraging customer data to deliver insights and shape business strategies to enable customers to improve their health.
- Develop strategic partnerships with external affiliates and vendors (1st party data owners, analytics specialists) to better understand customer profiles and develop meaningful customer attributes.
- Manage expectations and communicate/present analytical findings, results and reports to senior stakeholders, using data visualization techniques to tell compelling stories, while tying progress to enterprise goals.
- Analyse financial impact on healthcare data ecosystem initiatives.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to lay the legal and governance foundation for external partnerships.
- Drive operational efficiency by maintaining data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise, and providing service offerings to external affiliates for continuous insights and improvements.
- Support in defining data quality expectations and provide ongoing tracking and monitoring of performance of data systems and models.
- Stay updated on the latest research and developments in Data Science, Healthcare and adjacent fields to ensure the latest technology, techniques and methods are always applied.

Squad Leadership and Execution
- Leading, Coordinating, and Training Team Members
- Develop, plan, and prioritize data projects and delegate assigned roles and responsibilities for execution, weighing business and technical trade-offs as required.
- Share best practices and knowledge with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional partners.
- Provide support to data scientists on complex problems, integration of findings or presentation of results, requiring high-level expertise.
- Orchestrate all activities related to the roadmap, connecting the dots between related programs of work to ensure continuity of the bigger picture while guiding teams to focus on solving the right problems and developing the right solutions following agile methodology.
- Effectively manage and maximize the squad's ability to deliver sprint goals and team KPI's and coach squad members in lean-agile practices and mindsets.
- Maximize business results and customer value resulting from the development and deployment of healthcare digital products by making trade-off decisions as needed.
- Prepare for and participate in squad ceremonies including daily stand-up's, sprint planning, sprint demos and sprint reviews.
- Track and report on squad progress against sprint goals to Tribe Leadership.
- Work collaboratively with other Squad Leads and Managers across Digital to refine the backlog and identify cross journey dependencies.
- Engage with Chapter Leads regarding resources and functional expertise required in the agile team.
- Ensure the agile team can execute on the product roadmap and identifying, removing, and escalating blockers and impediments to maintain pace and flow of value.

**Qualifications and experience**
- Degree in Data Science, or medical field - (preferred).
- Post Graduate Degree
