Providing a professional long distance driving service to the Company and exercise due care and consideration for other road users.
- The driver is expected to leave at any hour, to be on time for the delivery. This may include an entire weekend away from their families
- Uplift and deliver loads safely to customer sites and ensure that deliveries and collections are done on time as and when required.
- Assist physically with the loading and offloading of the vehicle as and when required.
- Check and verify goods loaded for delivery and accept responsibility and ensure that the load is distributed accordingly, secured and loaded safely on the vehicle.
- Ensure that the vehicle and/or trailers are not overloaded.
- Use straps or chains as and when required to ensure the goods are secured.
- Planning of loads and think in advance to ensure all goods loaded are stable and centred.
- Offloading - Take time to position the load accurately to ensure goods are not damaged.
- Ensure that you verify all the information on POD’s and ensure that this is correct.
- Ensure that you do pre and post trip inspections.
- Basic knowledge of the Road Traffic Act.

**Requirements**:

- Grade 10
- Must be available immediately and reside within the Durban area, preferably Durban South.
- Must have a valid code EC drivers licence with a valid PDP.
- Must have a clear criminal record.
- Must be of at least 30 years of age.
- Must be of sober habits and in good health.
- Must have at least 5 years Volvo FH and Superlink long distance driving experience with traceable references.
- Must have knowledge of the Durban Harbour and its various ports/piers as well as the province of Gauteng.
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must have own reliable transport and a working smartphone.

**Salary**: R16,000.00 - R26,000.00 per month

**Experience**:

- superlink long distance driving: 5 years (required)

License/Certification:

- Heavy-vehicle drivers licence (required)
- code EC drivers licence with a valid PDP (required)
