**Key purpose of the role**:
The main purpose of the role in the organisation is to build high level trade relationships for the relevant companies among the retail and wholesale trade in South Africa.

**Responsibilities**:

- Map the trade and identify key senior trade contacts for engagement on the relevant Divisions and companies
- Develop a strategic trade contact program
- Set and manage contact goals across all trade groups in line with the strategic contact program
- Identify, develop and present relevant business opportunities to key trade contacts in order to unlock new revenue streams for the company
- Set up regular networking sessions for the relevant Exco members to engage and share business opportunities with their counterparts in the wholesale and retail trade
- Ability to prepare and present all necessary reporting to Board & Exco levels on all activities that fall within the trade relations function

**Core Competencies**:
**Experience and Qualifications**:

- Minimum 15 years’ experience in a Trade Marketing and Senior Sales role in the FMCG industry
- Strong operational, commercial, and new business development skills
- First-hand experience in trade promotions, shopper marketing, activations and sales and merchandising structures
- Solid wholesale and retail trade relationships
- Willingness to travel extensively across South Africa, SADC and West Africa
- Experience of working in African markets would be an advantage
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
