**Senior Effluent Water Treatment Processor**

My client, an international manufacturer of animal by-products, is situated in Mpumalanga.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing to maintain compliance with the required regulations governing the water treatment process, storm water and sludge management
- Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations as per the Standard Operating Procedures
- Assist, under supervision, in the performance of regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on the system as and when required
- Take test sampling as stipulated in the Standard Operating Procedures
- Troubleshoot problem areas within the treatment process
- Monitor and test the treated water, and act on out of specification results as appropriate
- Provide input into operative training
- Maintain the Operating Procedures
- Investigate and report incidents or near misses
- Perform all other basic tasks normally associated with the position which can be reviewed from time to time.

***Requirements**
- Matric
- Relevant Tertiary qualification (Water treatment course / Scientific)

**Experience**
- Knowledge of activated sludge treatment processes, aeration, membrane filtration and reverse osmosis will be beneficial.
- Have a basic knowledge of wastewater treatment process
- Flexible working (in terms of hours and location)
- Able to communicate (written and verbal) effectively
- Able to differentiate colours (not colour-blind)
- Be able to work in a robust area (e.g., lifting, climbing)
- Be able to follow instructions
- Shift work
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety protocols in typical environment
