**Introduction**

Our client, based in New Germany, is looking for an experienced buyer with costing experience to join their team.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

The maintenance and accurate reporting of inventory figures and to assist with physical inventory counts.

Inventory reconciliations

The preparation, analysis and reporting on monthly, quarterly and annual inventory costings.

Variance analysis, count variance and general monthly reporting.

The creation and amendments of bill of materials for new and existing products to include labour, packaging and/ or transport.

Posting of general ledger journals, monthly management reports and actively controlling the monthly stock takes.

Inventory Optimization

Costing Functions wrt volume and price,

Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month - end close

Standardise a selling price list for goods sold

Analysis of production and processing costs

Target costing projects, margin analysis and tracing costs back to underlying activities

Interact with Operations and Tollers to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date.

Analyse labour and overhead rates, budget, forecasts and suggest improvements - overhead cost allocations.

Provide general support to the Finance Department

Constantly seek opportunities to limit cost increases.

Responsible for break-even analysis for budgeting

Implement and control a fully functioning MRP system

Negotiate and Procure raw materials in-line with the MRP system requirements

Expediting of orders and deliveries

Assist with budget preparation

Estimates of new and proposed product costs

Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

Report on margins by product and division

Perform month-end accounting activities such as close-out completed jobs by ensuring all material, labour and outside service costs are recorded, reconciling inventory and related reserve balances to the general ledger and analysing variances and costof goods sold.

Co-ordinate these activities with the Financial Accountant in support of timely issuance of financial statements.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**

Relevant degree or diploma.

At least 2 years experience in buying in manufacturing (preferably in chemical manufacturing).

At least 2 years experience in costing.

Experience with syspro will be advantageous.
