Applications are hereby invited for a **Postdoctoral Research Fellowship **hosted by Prof Mzukisi Njotini at the University of Fort Hare, Faculty of Law.
This fellowship will enable an outstanding doctoral graduate to obtain experience of research and innovation at a higher education institution under the mentorship of established researchers. The fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis, considering the applicant’s academic achievements, publication outputs and research potential, as well as the relevance of prior experience and expertise. The potential postdoctoral fellow will conduct cutting-edge research in Information and Communications Technology Law and will be based at the Faculty of Law for a period of 12 months. The value of the Fellowship is fixed at **R300 000 per annum**, which will be paid in **four equal instalments**. The contract may be renewed based on satisfactory research output performance, with a minimum requirement of 2 Units per annum.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- A relevant Doctoral Degree awarded within the last 5 years
- Have a proven research track record including at least one article published in an accredited journal and at least one conference presentation
- Demonstrate solid proficiency, creativity, critical thinking, ability to collaborate effectively with others, and independent thought process.
**Duties**:
- Submission of at least two research units in DHET accredited journals.
- Presentation of research at one international or national conference per annum
- Assist with or co-supervise postgraduate students, where applicable.
- Assist in organising postgraduate research workshops and seminars.
- Contribute to other related research and capacity-building projects at the Faculty of Law as may be delegated
**Eligibility Criteria**
- Be a South African citizen, Permanent Resident or International for the full-time Postdoctoral Research fellowship position.
- Preference will be given to female South African citizens or holders of South African Permanent Residence.
- A record of accredited research publications, commensurate with the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position.
- Postdoctoral fellowship renewals shall be in accordance with the postdoctoral research fellowship policy of the University of Fort Hare.
- Applications must be accompanied by:
a) A recent and comprehensive curriculum vitae
b)A Covering Letter stating how applicants satisfy the requirements of the advertised position/s
c)A completed University of Fort Hare Application Form
d)Copies of the applicants’ qualifications. Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from SAQA.
