**Main Purpose of the Job**:

- Focusing on operating mechanism for waste baler, loading, compressing, driving, deliveries, and dumping refuse and recyclable materials. Following traffic laws and correctly route themselves, ensuring that there is vehicle is always maintained for their destination, for POP Warehouse in a sustainable and positive manner

**Education and experience required**:

- Matric relevant Degree / Diploma (Must have Mathematics)
- Minimum 5 years Relevant experience in driving
- Driver’s license (Minimum Code 14)
- Valid PRDP
- Full Vaccination done

**Requirements & Competencies**
- Considerable knowledge of safety standard practices governing the operation of vehicles
- Considerable knowledge of relevant traffic laws in South Africa
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, operation, and servicing of trucks and related automotive equipment
- Ability to properly use, operate and care for tools, equipment, and materials
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment
- Ability to read and understand vehicle operator’s manual
- Communication skills to maintain good relations with customers and staff.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with High sense of urgency
- Excellent written and communication skills and Strong Numeracy skills
- Ability to multitask in stressful situations and absorb pressure in stressful situations
- In depth Geographic understanding of South Africa

**Key responsibility Areas**:

- Maintain safe and efficient operation of recycling waste collection and transport equipment and vehicles.
- Perform pre-trip/ post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.
- Keep work location and vehicle in order.
- Knowledge of - traffic laws involved in equipment operations; safe operations of and safety precautions necessary in operation of equipment, including various types of solid waste collection trucks.
- Ability to - communicate effectively orally and in writing; understand and carry out written and oral instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, and the clients.

**Salary**: R6,000.00 - R7,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

License/Certification:

- Code 14 Valid driving license (required)
