**Job description**:
The purpose of this underwriting position is to analyse risk, and underwrite new policies, renewals, negotiations, quotes etc., specialising in Engineering Insurance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing individual client terms on existing and new business
- Developing and creating of new policy schedules on the Tial system
- Preparing and finalising of management reports of all new and cancelled business on certain portfolios
- Preparing new and renewal files
- Performing general administration and front-line broker assistance
- Issuing and distribution of invoices, statements and full credit control on certain portfolios
- Confirming quotation (terms) on renewals and new business to brokers
- Processing all data on the system with regards to the policy
- Assist senior management with ad hoc tasks and projects
- Assist with all client queries
- Processing of all rejections and refunds
- Manage the credit control function
- Processing/ reconciling of all SASRIA payments
- Underwrite policies related to amendments, queries, new business and advice
- Arrange Facultative RI if required
- Manage Tial system errors
- Adherence to FAIS regulations and standard procedures

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Complete full qualification as set by regulation (150 NQF4 Short Term insurance credits)
- FAIS Compliant (Commercial and Personal Lines)
- Regulatory Exams successfully completed (RE5)
- Minimum of five (5) years’ engineering underwriting experience
