Earthmoving Mechanic

**EARTHMOVING FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC - GAUTENG**

Our client is looking for a Field Service Technician, earthmoving equipment, based in Brackenfell Cape Town.
- Mid level position
- Must have experience working on big earthmoving machines
- Must currently stay in CPT or very near, must be quite familiar with the area
- Must have a Red Seal qualification
- Must be willing to work hard

**Required Skills**:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in computers and windows packages strongly preferred.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision.

**Education and experience**:

- Minimum of Five years’ experience in a related field of work - Earthmoving
- Qualified Diesel Mechanic - Trade Tested.
- Valid Driver’s Licence

**Responsibilities**:

- Diagnose, inspect, recondition, repair, assemble and service equipment as assigned by the Workshop Manager.
- Document machine information and repairs completed on Job Cards and responsible for submitting accurate Daily Reports and other required paperwork.
- Maintain technical and product knowledge on all Machines and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
- Maintain a clean work area, as well as care for all shop tools, machines, and equipment.
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the Company.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
- Must be available to work overtime, weekends and stand by when necessary.
