PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Executing daily refractory masonry tasks, conducting general work inspections, and carrying out planned maintenance on refractory installations. Repair and maintenance of all masonry installations within the Refinery Business Unit.

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDED BUT NOT LIMITED TO
- Execute refractory mason planned maintenance including general building inspections within specified time and give feedback to mason foreman.
- Manage all maintenance work orders issued to you on time to ensure that weekly and monthly KPIs are met.
- Assists in cost reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
- Part-take in the RCFA as may be required.
- Ensure proper management of works orders.
- Driving and implementing reliability on all refractory within the Refinery business unit.
- Promptly attend to any refractory breakdowns and callouts as and when required.
- Conduct your work within acceptable quality to improve plant availability, reliability and general housekeeping.
- Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A completed Matric qualification.
- Must have at least completed an N3 qualification or equivalent with a recognized Trade test
certificate in Refractory Masonry.
- Must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

SKILLS/ COMPETENCIES
- Simple written instructions or requests.
- Have an ability to be a team player within the organization.
- Refractory knowledge & building techniques.
