IT based company in Midrand is seeking the expertise of a bookkeeper to join their team for fulltime bases.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:
**Bookkeeper**:

- Full bookkeeping and accounting function up to trial balance, including debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash, journals, etc.
- Imports and stock control.
- Monthly journal entries
- VAT calculations and VAT201 submissions
- VAT reconciliations and Returns
- Assistance with income tax and provisional tax submissions
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE EMP201 returns and other necessary SARS requirements
- Maintenance of SARS accounts,Income Tax Provisional Tax
- Liaison with clients
- Payroll and understanding accounting policies
**Debt Collector**:

- Keep tracking outstanding debts
- Plan course of action to recover owed money
- Locate and contact debtors
- Negotiate payoff deadlines and payment plans
- Handle customers' questions or complaints
- Identify gaps in the system and recommend solutions
- Build trust with debtors
- Update account status and database regularly
- Comply with requirements when legal action is unavoidable

**Requirements**:

- A person who generally understands Bank recons which is basically capturing statements on finance system (systems like bank manager can be utilized to import bank statement directly into Pastel to avoid manual capturing
- Someone with intermediate knowledge, not to only capture bank statements up to trial balance.
- An analytical thinker who have solid understanding of managements accounts (Income Statement and Balance Sheet), and a person who can reconcile balance sheet items like your customers / collections account and creditors accounts like VAT, PAYE and so forth.
- BCom (Financial Accounting) or similar qualification
- Professional qualification will be advantageous
- Accounting qualification or certification
- Minimum of 1 years’ post articles experience in a similar position
- Experienced in an Accounting Practice environment is beneficial
- Working knowledge and experience with accounting packages
- Motivated
