**The main function of this position is responsible for recovering debts and reconcile the debtors accounts as efficient as possible.**

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Monitor debtors and administer debtor master records on the system (age analysis)
- Manage a team of credit controllers throughout the Electrical Group
- Set targets for credit controllers
- Ensure achievement of monthly debtors and collection targets
- Manage the division’s exposure to credit risk in conjunction with Business Unit management
- Make necessary changes to the company's credit policy to mitigate unnecessary risk
- Ensure compliance of the Group’s divisions to debtors’ management policies
- Liaise with CGIC on insurance matters
- Regularly meet and negotiate terms with third party debt collection agencies
- Manage write-offs, bad debt provisions and setting up of payment plans
- Take ownership of the new Debtors system including implementation and post implementation
- Assist credit controllers in approving and / or processing transactions on ERP system
- Liaise with customers on account issues and ensure queries are resolved timeously
- Generate consolidated reports to management detailing accounts receivable status**Inherent Requirements**

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- A Financial Degree is a MUST
- A Credit Management qualification (NQF 6/7) is an ADVANTAGE
- Knowledge of the Credit Act is a MUST
- Previous experience working with legal attorneys is a MUST
- 4 years working experience as a Credit/Debtors Manager is a MUST
- Knowledge of financial system, K8 or other ERP is an ADVANTAGE
- Knowledge of debtors’ systems would be an ADVANTAGE
- Previous experience in managing a team is an ADVANTAGE
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Systematic knowledge of databases and tracking systems
- Strong knowledge of computer software packages and MS Office
