Data Analyst

This role will be responsible to present data and analytics in ways that are easy to interpret and spot patterns, trends and correlations. These representations will include charts, graphs, infographics and other pictorial diagrams. The role will work in an agile environment, both in business as usual and a project-based team structure, coordinating with data business partner(s), data scientist(s) and engineer(s) to respond to business requirements by developing and deploying analytical solutions under the guidance of the CDO.

**Data Analytics & Visualization**
- Liaise with applicable partners where necessary e.g. the Data Business Partner (DBP), Business Analyst (BA) and Project Manager (PM) depending on the scope of work to understand business requirement for specific programmes/projects and then build and create flexible solutions that can adapt to the changing needs of business per distribution channel at any period of time and within prescribed limits.
- Under the guidance of Chief Data Officer, prepare reports and presentations summarizing analysis and findings. These reports/analyses to include insights and actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Develop an understanding of the analytical software tools available and how to obtain the best value from them.
- Work with latest visualisation tools and technologies to provide the business with meaningful analytics that is easily interpretable and enables decision making.
- Adequate (Extract, Transform and Load) ETL and relevant coding skills, including the ability to quickly learn and implement new languages specific to analytic and visualisation tools.
- Under the guidance of the CDO, investigate and resolve any issues raised within the analytics environment.
- Under the guidance of CDO, customise communication style based on stakeholders and leverage relationships to drive behavioural change.
- Projects are completed on time and with a high degree of accuracy

**Operations**
- Work in a project-based environment by coming together with data scientist/s and engineer/s to address project specific visualisation requirements.
- Enforce deliverables are reviewed and approved by the Senior Data Analyst or Chief Data Officer (CDO) before being sent to the business.
- Escalate issues (delays or challenges in requests) to the Chief Data Officer and project manager and provide feedback to business timeously

**Risk, Governance and Compliance**
- Keep up to date with required legislative, governance and compliance requirements.
- Comply with established internal control procedures and authority levels.
- Under guidance of CDO, manage exposure to business risks and mitigation through the adoption of effective actions and measures

**Teamwork**
- Under guidance of CDO, define SLAs and key success metrics are defined, measured and managed across all data visualisation activities, as required.
- Engage other teams in leveraging data visualisation capabilities, as required.
- Collaborate with DBP to ensure reports developed can be communicated in a way that can be effectively used by the business.
- Work closely with the DBP & PM to ensure business is kept up to date on task progress.
- Engage with DBP/PM to get feedback of performance on projects & the success or lack thereof of solutions implemented.
- Relevant graduate degree (Statistics, Computer Science, Business Mathematics and Informatics, data analysis)
- At least 3+ years’ experience in data visualization, analytics or related fields
- Prior experience in back-end and front-end development is desirable.
- Prior experience in DBMS systems like SQL Server, ORACLE or similar will be advantageous.
- Previous experience using ETL tools like SSIS, Informatica, etc will be advantageous
- Visualisation tool - Tableau, Qlik or Power BI or similar
- Strong knowledge of tools and technologies deployable in this area
