**Junior Data Analyst x 2**

**Job Purpose**
- The purpose of the Junior Data Analyst within the CIB Data Optimisation division is to contribute to the success of the team through a positive attitude, analysis, optimization, and testing of system solutions that meet business needs. They play a crucial role in ensuring uninterrupted business as usual by performing operational tasks and addressing ad hoc requests. Additionally, the Junior Data Analyst supports and maintains the data warehouse in line with the data model and metadata repository, providing business intelligence analysis and support.

**Responsibilities**:
**Deliver projects**
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of BI tools and software.
- Help ensure data integrity, security, and availability.
- Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and database management.
- Assist in creating and managing reports and dashboards that provide insights and analytics for decision-makers.
- Analyse user ad-hoc requests and requirements under supervision.
- Document proposed functional and technical solutions using required templates.
- Help develop test plans.
- Conduct integration testing to ensure solutions meet quality standards.
- Support user acceptance testing cycles to ensure sign-off is obtained.
- Assist business users with BI tools and reports.
- Provide timely status updates to users and ensure appropriate escalation when required.
- Assist in optimizing the performance of BI systems to ensure fast and reliable access to data.
- Work with team members throughout the project life cycle.
- Use Agile methodology to help deliver stakeholder requirements.

- Ensure good working relationships by maintaining a helpful and professional attitude
- Build trust by delivering on commitments as per SLA’s

**Deliver business as usual**
- Notify appropriate audience in event of failure and take corrective action where appropriate
- Service ad-hoc extract and report requests efficiently and effectively by analysing the requirement, designing and developing the solution and ensuring it is of the required quality
- Action administrative ad-hoc requests as per agreed SLA’s
- Trace the cause of failure within existing software and make recommendations on how to rectify so that the cause is eliminated
- Follow naming standards, templates and quality criteria as per governance framework

**Transformation of team and delivery of Innovative / sustainable solutions**
- Discuss & share lessons learned during optimization of processes
- Identify additional areas where information sharing will be beneficial, e.g. try to tie in with development plan and leverage on existing skills within the team
- Communicate with team to promote reuse of software components within the team
- Grow knowledgebase in depth and breadth of Nedbank CIB processes, systems and products
- Support and encourage staff to participate and support corporate responsibility activities

**Preferred Qualification**
- NQF Level 6 of Higher in an Information Technology or Computer Science-related field.

**Requirements**:

- Minumum 1 to 3 years of experience in Data Warehouse Methodology and Data Analysis.
- Experienced at Data Extract / Transform / Load
- Experience with database concepts and SQL, PL/SQL
- Acceptance of existing development standards and contribution to refine existing standards
- Ability to write code and develop solutions
