**Job Advert Summary**:
Assisting in Supervising and managing auto mechanical staff in the maintenance of Rand Water vehicles / plant / equipment to ensure availability of Water Purification Plant at Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
- N6 certificate in Mechanical Engineering coupled with a recognised trade test qualification in Petrol or Diesel Mechanics or National Diploma/Advance Diploma/Degree in Mechanical engineering.
- Four years’ relevant maintenance experience in the automotive repair and maintenance service industry with at least two years in a supervisory capacity
- SAMTRAC certificate would serve as an added advantage
- Must have supervisory qualifications
- Valid drivers licence and the ability to pass Rand Water’s K53 test
- Computer literate (MS Office package and SAP)

**Primary Duties**:

- Provide a leading role in the vehicle mechanical section by provide technical experience and assistance
- Coordinate and control workflow by planning maintenance activities on fleet vehicles and plant equipment to ensure minimum downtime and maximum availability
- Plan resources and review progress against the transport department plan
- Assist in compilation of transport budget and monitor/control budget expenditure
- Coordinate procurement of spares and services
- Priorities from job cards are set to ensure workload is completed timely and effective
- Setting of standards for work done and ensuring compliance
- Reporting and analyses of section performance data
- Staff management and maintaining good labour relations
- Weekly vehicle status report update
