Job description

- A Waitron assists customers by noting their order, serving tables their requested meals and preparing bills at the end of the table’s meal. Waiters are also responsible for asking customers if they are satisfied with their meal and providing any assistance should the customer not be satisfied. They also need to assess customer’s needs and preferences and making recommendations. This position reports directly to the Streatery Manager and will be required to work different shifts across trading and non-trading hours, including Sundays and Public Holiday.What you'll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.
- Greet customers and hand out menus
- Take meal and beverage orders from customers and place these orders in the kitchen
- Make menu recommendations and inform customers of any specials
- Deliver meals and beverages to tables when they have been prepared
- Check that customers are satisfied with their meal
- Prepare the bill for tables when requested
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
- Properly handle and maintain all equipment
- Respond to orders, questions, concerns and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
- Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash handling procedures
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
- Observe relevant health and safety standards
- Maintain clean and hygienic work station
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements when needed
- Utilise strong organisational skills to ensure efficient operations
- Demonstrate strong numeric skills for precise measurement and accurate cash handling
- Serve customers quickly and efficiently by maintaining a positive attitude and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers
