-The main purpose of this position is to support the Economic Statistics Department (ESD) in the management and oversight of data management principles under the supervision of the Data Steward, to provide the business with high-quality and consistently accessible statistics. -Detailed Description Collect, prepare and submit preliminary research in line with the data management methodologies and frameworks to the Data Steward for the Data Steward to provide accurate and reliable data in support of the production of quality statistics for ESD stakeholders. - Identify under supervision new data sources based on the outcomes of data quality assessments to extend the range of economic statistics for ESD stakeholders to enable effective decision-making. - Monitor the published statistics against agreed quality dimensions and provide feedback to the Data Steward. - Monitor the metadata registry by ensuring compliance to the metadata framework and report findings to the Data Steward. - Proactively identify data and statistics integrity and quality issues and inform the Data Steward for resolution. - Participate in relevant data management projects. - Propose and implement under the supervision of the Data Steward the refinement and continual improvement of systems, tools, methods and processes in own area. Job Requirements at least a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or an equivalent qualification; - relevant certifications will be an added advantage; and - a minimum of two years’ experience in a data management environment. Additional requirements include having: knowledge of enterprise information management (EIM) reporting; - analytic and problem-solving skills; - a good understanding of information governance; - in-depth knowledge of document and content management; - knowledge of metadata management; - proven data quality management skills; - reference and master data knowledge; - effective communication skills; - stakeholder and client focus; - an ability to influence; - strong planning and organising skills; - good judgement and decision-making skills; - a drive for results; - confidence in building and managing relationships; - flexibility; and - an innovative and creative approach.
