Generator Technician Position

INDUSTRY: Energy: Generators and Solar

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 Years’ experience in Generators, Electrical and or Diesel engines would be preferred.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent

QUALIFICATIONS: Matric Exemption (Minimum) / O-Level

SKILLS: Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills, Good computer literacy (MSOffice), Proficiency in English and Afrikaans, written and spoken.

PERSONALITY TRAITS: Committed, Dedicated, Enthusiastic, Friendly, Team Player, Technically Minded, Ability to handle disputes constructively.

LANGUAGE: English & Afrikaans (written and spoken)

We’re looking for a team player who is willing and able to deal with customers face to face daily.

The job requires.

servicing of generators and fault finding on-site and working on generators in our warehouse.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES − Responsible for the service and maintenance of generators on site.

− Carry all the correct spares and materials needed for the service.

− Issue a Job Card for each job completed.

− Ensure client sign off before departure from the premises.

− Ensure that the correct company image is always maintained.

− Polite and efficient with clients.

− Company vehicle to be clean at all time, and kept in a secure area.

− Monitor company vehicle maintenance and licenses.

− Complete the vehicle log book on a weekly basis for your own tax benefit.

− Ensure Vehicle Spares Stock is correct at all times.

− All tools and equipment accounted for.

− Ensure that all tools & equipment are locked away and safe from theft.

− Maintain a safe and clean warehouse.

− Assist with the loading / offloading of products for customers & products from suppliers.

− Answer the telephonic support line after-hours on a rotation basis.

− Attend training when requested or deemed necessary to carry out the job

− You may be required to travel outside the borders of Gauteng or South Africa on occasions, therefore you will be required to have a valid passport at all times.
