Our client is a global multidisciplinary consulting firm that partners with public and private sectors around the world to provide innovative solutions in infrastructure and services while preserving natural resources. They are looking for a proactive and dynamic Transport Infrastructure Principal to lead their Transport Practice in delivering essential solutions that improve access to economic opportunities, build resilience and foster quality of life.

As Principal, you will be responsible for leading our client's transport practice both in South Africa and potentially overseas. You will inspire your team of consultants and external experts to deliver high-quality projects across the transport sector. You will also be an integral part of driving business acquisition and accelerating growth, as well as forging relationships with clients and key stakeholders in the transport industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing project delivery and quality control, owning project deliverables and engaging actively with clients
- Leading the growth of the team via business acquisition, direct sales activities and tender responses
- Building and maintaining networks with key stakeholders in the transport sector, both technical partners and clients
- Developing problem-solving approaches and structuring work assignments
- Conducting high-quality research and analysis, producing communications, and strategizing formulation for clients within the transport sector
- Expertise focusing on strategy and policy formulation, capable of leading implementations for large multi-disciplinary initiatives
- Supports clients to apply, secure, and allocate budgets into national and international transport projects
- Mentoring and developing junior staff

**Requirements**:

- Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Economics, Engineering, Development Studies, Public Policy, Law, Finance, International Relations, Urban Planning, Transport, or related fields
- At least 12 years of consultancy, business advisory or public sector experience, including exposure to the transport sector
- Experience with consulting assignments, client management, and tender management
- A successful track record of leadership and business acquisition and development
- Experience conducting and guiding colleagues on both quantitative and qualitative analysis for proposals and recommendations to clients
- International experience or working in frontier markets is preferred
- Formal public sector experience, Integrated Public Transport Networks (IPTNs), or related sectors are beneficial
- The appreciation for, and understanding of, the transformation and empowerment of the informal public transport sector and related sectors
- Experience with public sector projects across the national, provincial, and local spheres of government
