- Support and assist with the production of and continuous development of activities undertaken with Mechanical Service.
- Supporting the execution of service to achieve KPIs, strategic and business objectives.
- Undertake technical training courses and qualifications as required with the aim of continued personal development.
- Support Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis processes into site occurrences and incidents as required.
- Adhering to and ensuring QHSE compliance for all service engineering activities.
- Ensure all tools, equipment and apparatus are maintained in line with best practice and applicable statutory requirements.
- Support other areas of the business as and when required’
- Utilize precision equipment, such as callipers, verniers, and micrometers.
- Interpret complex drawings, sketches and perform layout work.
- Work and operate cutting rigs, welding machinery and measuring tools.
- Produce work and document following established procedures.
- Perform fitting of structural components using tools and required methods for the assembly of turbine packaging.
- Perform work following all safety procedures and policies. Maintain a clean orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Works with quality control on quality of product and specific problems.
- Reads and operates mechanical tools, instruments and components on a turbine.
- Reads and interprets drawings and schematics.
- Assist the test area and shop in any mechanical and electrical assembly as needed.
- Maintain and obey safety standards.
- Work and communicate with Engineering, QC, Material Control and other crafts in production.
- Maintain hand tools and machinery required for production.
- Assist doing alignments and parts Installation. Alignment methods to include Laser and DTI.
- Level under bases and components.
- Work rotating Shifts when required
- National and international travel when required.
- Perform standby duties. Key Relationships:

- Mechanical Operations Manager - Overall responsible for the department.
- Supervisor - Line Manager
- Operations Department - Maintain effective relationships and communication within the team to support the timely, safe and reliable operation

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Preferably educated to minimum level of HNC / ONC or equivalent level of qualification in engineering.
- Preferably completed a recognized indentured apprenticeship in engineering.
- Operational and maintenance experience, preferably within the Energy Sector
- Appreciation of H&S management processes
- Specialized skill training/certification preferred
- Eight or more years related experience in mechanical field service environment.
- Five or more years related experience in shop environment.
- Experience and training in welding and cutting tools and processes.
- Experience doing gas turbine mechanical work and gas turbine overhaul work preferred
