Group Buyer

**Group Buyer - Supply Chain**

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Buyer to be responsible for selecting and purchasing quality products for our business. The buyer will work with individuals across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.

**Purpose**: Selecting and purchasing quality products

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
- Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
- Coordinate and update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels; control and monitor shrinkage
- Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- Conduct competitor analysis, product evaluations, monitoring purchase orders and creating reports for the management team.
- Manage and support various departments in team initiatives.
- Conduct training and act as a mentor to team members.
- Responsible for merchandising; checking of promotions and pricing of goods.
- Coordinate and be responsible for promotional advertising
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Ability to travel.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
- Possess strong industry knowledge with the ability to forecast market trends and perform consumer research
- Analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget.
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.

- Buying experience in the wholesale and retail sector is essential
